センター英語h27r "It is of central importance" の解釈

大学入試センター試験(2015/h27年)の追試で出た難しい英文

[原文]

"It is of central importance for a good leader to set an example for the team."

"It is / of central importance / for a good leader / to set an example / for the team."

"S:It V:is / C:{of central importance} / {for a good leader} / {to set an example / {for the team} }."

[文法]

"It"は形式主語、実主語は、"to set an example for the team"。

だが、"for a good leader"が、"to set an example"の動詞"set"の真の主語を示している。

"of central importance" は、高校生が知っている正規の文法からはずれている。

基本は、"It is important"のはずだが、 
形容詞"important"を、形容詞"central"で修飾するためには、名詞"importance" にする必要があり、それで"of"を前につけた。
"be"動詞の後に、名詞も形容詞もなく、前置詞"of"が来るのだから、高校生が知っている正規の文法からはずれている。

 "It is centrally important" という意味と同じで、"of central importance"は、形容詞的となり"is"の補語(C)の働きをしていると考えざるを得ない。
